IPOH: The police are investigating a viral video of a man committing a felonius act of breaking the glass window of the main entrance of a house in Taman Pinji Indah here.
Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Hassan said, the Ipoh district police saw the 25-second video which was spread through the social media site Twitter by the owner of the account named ‘NanManjo18715’.
“The police confirmed receiving a police report about the incident on April 4.
“The suspect who committed criminal trespassing on the complainant’s house is the complainant’s ex-husband,” he said in a statement here today.
Yahaya said the case was investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code (treason) and Section 447 of the Penal Code (criminal trespass).
He said that the police’s investigation resulted in the arrest of a 46-year-old local man in Taman Ipoh here who is believed to be responsible for the case.
“The results of the preliminary urine screening test conducted on this suspect found that he was positive for the drug Methamphetamine.
“The suspect will be remanded tomorrow to help with further investigation; with the arrest of the suspect, this case has already been resolved,” he said.
He advised therefore, the public should not make any speculations about the video that could affect the police’s investigation or cause annoyance among members of the community.
