IPOH:The Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) for Hari Raya Puasa 2023 started effective yesterday until April 30 to control the prices of essential goods.
The implementation period is for 16 days which includes two days during the festival.
The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in a statement informed that as many as 30 types of goods are controlled under this scheme.
However, in Perak as much 27 types of goods are involved.
“This includes six types of goods from the chicken and egg category under the Maximum Price Determination of Chicken and Chicken Eggs which is effective since 5 February 2022.
“The implementation period of SHMMP Hari Raya Puasa 2023 this time is appropriate according to the current situation, which is to create a win-win situation for consumers and traders,” said the statement.
Through this pricing, consumers can enjoy reasonable prices and traders are not stressed.
SHMMP Hari Raya Puasa 2023 is enforced through the Act Price Control and Antiprofiteering (AKHAP) 2011 which allows price determination to be made.
The maximum price that has been set for SHMMP Hari Raya Puasa 2023 at the wholesaler and retailer level can be checked through the website https://www.kpdn.gov.my
