IPOH: The Perak State Government celebrated Vaisakhi Day with the entire Sikh community in a festive atmosphere.
The Perak State Level Vasakhi Open House 2023 held at the PSU Club House here yesterday was successfully organized by the Perak Government and the Perak Sikh Community Association.
State Housing and Local Government Committee Chairman, Sandrea Ng Shy Ching attended the event.
Also present included the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Chang Lih Kang; Perak Exco, A Sivanesan; Member of Parliament for Gopeng, Tan Kar Hing; Simpang Pulai assemblyman, Wong Chai Yi and Malim Nawar assemblyman, Shasha Veraiah.
Sandrea said the program showed the commitment of the Unity Government in raising the dignity of various ethnicities and religions.
“Ethnic, cultural and religious diversity is definitely Malaysia’s privilege and strength.
“This sacred festival of the Sikh community has been celebrated with various events and interesting cultural performances with very encouraging attendance despite the rainy day,” she said in a statement here.
She added that this festival was previously organized in 2018 and 2019.
