An Autoshow will take place at Aeon Mall Station 18 from May 5 to 7. The event is expected to showcase 30 to 50 vehicles, including some rarely seen models.
This autoshow is part of the Wakunime Daikoku Street Matsuri Vol. 1 event that’s running through those 3 days. According to the event organiser, the original plan was to bring in some Initial D cars and pair them with some cosplay. However, the reaction and support from the automotive community was overwhelmingly positive, and they pledged to bring in more vehicles in support of the event.
Sponsors for the event include 藤原豆花店 Fujiwara Tofa and the Malaysian Itasha Movement (MIM), with Aeon Mall Station 18 management agreeing to set aside the space for the autoshow.
There will be half a dozen or so cars to start off the first day but by 6 pm, the Autoshow should be in full swing.
The concept is that the Autoshow will be a fun experience for the whole family, as Autoshows are usually visited by male auto-enthusiasts, but in conjunction with the Anime, Cartoons & Games (ACG) activities, there will be plenty to see and do for the whole family.

May 6 (Saturday) will feature an arcade competition which the public can register for, starting at 11 am, while May 7 (Sunday) will feature much more in terms of cosplay.
Visitors can expect plenty of vendors on all days, with nearly 100 booths expected, including a Comic & Cartoon Booth, with Boy PJ doing live caricatures.

Wakunime Daikoku Street Matsuri Vol. 1 is shaping up to be one of the biggest ACG events in Ipoh, and shouldn’t be missed.
