IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) is ready to cooperate with the Disaster Management Department if any emergency assistance is needed.
Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said MBI is always concerned about current issues involving the interests of the local community.
“We are aware of the issue of extremely hot weather right now that limits human activities daily and poses a health risk.
“If the hot weather lasts and the amount of rain decreases, surely the source of water supply will also be affected and will affect the quality of daily life.
“If notified through the Disaster Management Department, MBI is ready to assist. Currently, MBI has six water tankers and it does not cause problems to work together to solve problems.
Meanwhile, Rumaizi also informed that his party has changed the cleaning and garbage collection times by MBI staff.
The time change is to ensure the health of MBI staff is always guaranteed and avoid the risk of heat stroke.
“Garbage collection works as usual from 6.00 am to 11.00 am and will resume from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
“All external works involving MBI staff went smoothly and no case of heat stroke was reported.
“This new scheduling will continue until the extreme heat issue ends based on the forecast of the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia),” he said.
