KUALA KANGSAR:Pesta Laksa Kuale will be included in the list of events in Perak Visit Year 2024 thus becoming one of the attractions in the state’s tourism calendar.
Not only has it been known, but the special food that is synonymous with the people of Perak, especially the people of Kuala Kangsar, has its own aesthetic value.
State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Exco, Loh Sze Yee said, the attraction of laksa has also positioned Kuala Kangsar as a tourist destination.
He said, however, the event will be made bigger and more lively with the participation of more traders.
“We see that the Pesta Laksa Kuale has its own attraction not only for laksa fans but also for tourists coming to Kuala Kangsar.
“Next year we will further boost the organisation of this festival, especially through the cooperation of the Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council (MPKK) and other related parties,” he said.
He was found while attending the Pesta Laksa Kuale 2023 held at the Arena Kuala Kangsar yesterday.
Raja Puan Besar Perak, Raja Nazhatul Shima Almarhum Sultan Idris A’fifullah Shah agreed to grace the opening ceremony.
This Pesta Laksa Kuale was the brainchild of Raja Nazhatul Shima when she grace during a visit to Kuala Kangsar in early 2020.
This is the second time it has been organised since last year.
Last year, the organisation aimed to re-inject the tourism economy of this district after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, it also aims to raise the Laksa Kuale dish which is quite famous in the Kuala Kangsar district.
In organizing the Pesta Laksa Kuale this time, they are promoting various types of laksa and sweets from the states in Malaysia and the 12 districts of Perak.
Among them are Penang Laksa, Laksa Johor Laksa, Laksa Pahang, Laksa Kelantan, Laksa Melaka and Laksa Jawa from Selangor.
The purpose is to build a business network and bring together traders to formulate suitable business matches.
The economic spillover from the presence of visitors at the two-day festival will also be felt by tourism operators, accommodation and others.
