KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian government’s visit to France increased relations between Malaysia and France in the cooperation of various interested sectors.
Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said, he held a meeting with his counterpart, PYT Catherine Colonna during his visit to Paris recently.
“My program in Paris is incomplete without a meeting with my counterpart, HE Catherine Colonna. I had a bilateral meeting with her before returning to Malaysia.
“A few key takeaways from the discussion are efforts to further strengthen the mutual cooperation between Malaysia and France, particularly in the sectors of education, defence, trade, investment, health and many others;
“Discussion to strategise a more impactful collaboration for the economic benefits of both countries including in the sectors of green technology, digital economy and renewable energy,” he said.
“Both of us had an exchange of views regarding issues of mutual interest including efforts to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Malaysia-France as well as regional and international issues,” he said.
He also discussed the acknowledgement of the French Government regarding the sovereignty of Malaysia based on the internationally recognised borders.
