IPOH: Continuous heavy rain for two hours followed by strong winds resulted in a disturbance at Taman Perpaduan this afternoon.
The spokesperson for Malaysia’s Civil Defense Force (APM) in the Kinta District reported that the incident occurred at 5:12 p.m., causing damage to a food stall and the roof being blown away.
“APM Kinta received a call from the Village Chief regarding the disturbance at Taman Perpaduan.
“Five members of the District Operations Control Center (PKOD) were dispatched to the location to monitor and assess the risks in the affected area.
“It was found that the heavy rain persisted for more than two hours, accompanied by strong winds, which caused damage to the food stall and the roof to be ripped off.
“APM Kinta arrived at Taman Perpaduan and found the premises of the food stall in a damaged state, with the roof blown off onto the main road within the park. A police report has also been filed regarding the incident,” he informed reporters on Thursday.
Furthermore, he stated that they would provide updates on the latest information regarding the incident periodically.
