LUMUT: The increase in the price of basic necessities that is becoming more and more significant has indeed had a great impact on the people, especially the low-income groups.
The group of single mothers is among those who are also affected by the current economic situation.
Thus, to help ease the cost of living, the Pangkor State Assembly Service Center contributes food boxes for basic needs to those groups.
The contribution was delivered by Pangkor State Assembly Member Norhaslinda Zakaria.
According to Norhaslinda, the list of recipients was based on the names chosen by the Lumut Parliament Single Mother Association.
“Although this small donation is not much, it is hoped that it will help reduce the financial burden of the recipients.
“Furthermore, in a situation where the increase in the price of goods is difficult to control, other than as a preparation for this group of single mothers ahead of the arrival of Hari Raya Aidiladha,” she said.
Norhaslinda further explained that her side also distributes the same assistance from time to time based on need, to all levels of the population who face difficult situations.
