MANJUNG – Two families in Mukim Lumut here, whose homes were damaged by a fallen tree during a storm last week, breathed a sigh of relief after receiving assistance.
Yesterday, officers from the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) Manjung, visited the occupants of the two affected houses.
JKM provided aid to the victims involved.
Accompanying the visit to the families was Pangkor State Assemblywoman, Norhaslinda Zakaria.
When approached, Norhaslinda expressed her hope that the assistance provided would alleviate the burden faced by the families affected by the disaster.
The incident, which occurred last Friday afternoon, resulted in damages to three houses due to the storm.
Strong winds followed by heavy rain caused two houses in Kampung Pundut and another in Kampung Teluk Muruh to suffer damages.
The roofs of two houses were blown away by the strong winds, while the third house’s kitchen was damaged by the fallen tree.
