GERIK: Sultan Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah officiated at the World Tiger Day 2023 Celebration organised by the World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature Malaysia at Belum Rainforest Resort.
Also present were Raja Dihilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain and Tunku Besar Seri Menanti, Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz who is also the President of WWF-Malaysia.
At the event, His Majesty was pleased to present a certificate of appreciation to 10 rangers and a certificate of recognition or prestigious accreditation of Standard Tiger Guaranteed Conservation (CAITS) to the Royal Belum State Park (RBSP).
His Majesty presented the certificate of recognition to the Director of the Perak State Park Corporation (PTNP), Mohamed Shah Redza Hussein.
Also present was the Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.
World Tiger Day is celebrated on July 29 every year to foster and increase the awareness of the world community about the importance of caring for, preserving and conserving the tiger species.
In fact, this celebration is very meaningful to Malaysia which still has an endemic species, the Malayan Tiger.
