MBI Honors Delegates from Three Countries

IPOH – On the occasion of The 6th IMT-GT Green Cities Mayor-Council (GCMC) Meeting, the Ipoh City Council (MBI) celebrated the presence of delegates with a performance of the Ipoh Cultural Festival 2023 held last night.

The cultural showcase took place at the Laman Sejahtera Amphitheatre in Dr Seenivasagam Park, witnessed by delegates from three countries – Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Present were the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin; Mayor of Hatyai, Pol.Lt.Gen.Sakorn Thongmunee; Mayor of Thungsong Municipality, Thailand, Songchai Watcharadamrong; and Mayor of Seremban, Dato’ Masri bin Razali.

The performance highlighted the cultural uniqueness of the Malay, Indian, and Chinese ethnicities, presented by the Selangkah Dance Group, Anggini Dancers from Teluk Intan Perak, and the Ipoh Wushu Lion & Dragon Dance Quan Ji Association.

Apart from entertaining the delegates, it aimed to promote traditional culture and further enhance artistic activities at the Sejahtera Amphitheatre, in line with the Visit Ipoh 2023 and Visit Perak 2024 campaigns.

The GCMC spanned three days from August 7 to 9, 2023. The delegates were also taken on a tour of various tourist attractions in and around the city of Ipoh, through the Eco Heritage Tour and Mirror Lake.
