IPOH: Muaythai athlete Mohd Rifdean Masdor and cyclist Nyo Chi Hui were respectively crowned as Perak State Sportsman and Sportswoman 2021/2022.
Mohd Rifdean is the gold medalist at the 2021 IMFA World Championships in Abu Dhabi while Nyo Chi Hui, the gold medalist at the 2022 Asian Junior Track Cycling Championships in New Delhi.
Both received a pair of blazers, a trophy and incentives worth RM7,000.
The Sportsman and Sportswoman Harapan award was given to the national sprinter, Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi and tennis player, Shitomi Leong Xi Xuan.
Male and Female Best Athlete categories, athletics athlete, Mohd Asraf Mohd Haisham and archery athlete, Nur Jannaton Sarnoh took away the titles.
The ceremony also saw Kinta District as the Overall Champion of the Perak State Sports Carnival (SUPER) 2023 and brought home the trophy.
The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah honored the ceremony with his presence.
