IPOH: Firefighters had to break down the door of a house after it was reported that a woman had died in Jalan Tawas Baru, Taman Ehsan, here last night.
According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the 55-year-old victim was found dead in a room in her house.
“Members from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received a call about a woman alleged to have been locked in at 8.36pm and rushed to the scene.
“Firefighters broke down the door using special equipment and found an unconscious victim on a bed upstairs.
“The hospital medical officer who arrived at the location later confirmed that the victim had died,” he told reporters.
The victim was handed over to the police for further action.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Tarmizi Hassan ended at 10pm.
