The Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH) jointly collaborated with Klinik Low Kampar 18 Jam and organised a Free Health Screening Campaign on August 12, at Pasar Awam Kampar. This initiative was to mark the hospital’s initiatives to increase awareness on health.
They conducted various free health screenings, which included blood pressure checks, blood sugar, body fat assessment, hand grip strength test and others. In addition, Dr Low and Dr Chan have given free consultation to the community. All the participants were given goodie bags.
Mr Nicholas, CEO of PCSH said “First and foremost, we would like to thank Dr Low Chen Jie from Klinik Low Kampar for initiating this free health screening for the community of Kamparians. The health screening was the hospital’s way of fulfilling its corporate social responsibility in the community. We believe this event has increased awareness on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and as a reminder on the need of going for regular medical check-ups to maintain good health. Your health is our priority!”
Dr Low Chen Jie, Director of Klinik Low Kampar 18 Jam shared that “It gives us an immense amount of happiness in providing free health screening to the community. During this campaign, we have detected quite a number of individuals who were not aware that they might have pre-diabetes and other underlying health conditions which may need further assessment. Early screening for high-risk groups especially those with diabetes and hypertension is important for early detection. This provides an opportunity to prevent or delay its progression and decrease morbidity and mortality. We are grateful to our collaborative partner PCSH in joining us on this meaningful venture. We believe that with synergized efforts, we are able to provide more to our participants and benefit the community. Health is the greatest wealth!“
