IPOH: A limestone factory manager was arrested and believed to be involved in diesel oil storage without a licence in a raid at the factory in Keramat Pulai Industrial Park, Sungai Raia Mukim here yesterday.
The Director of the Office of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Perak, Kamalluddin Ismail said, it was the result of a team of officers and members of the Perak KPDN Authority who carried out an inspection operation through Ops Tiris at about 12.10 pm yesterday.
“The result of the inspection found that these premises carry out limestone processing activities and there is a skid tank inside the premises area.
“Further inspection found an estimated 12,000 litres of liquid suspected to be diesel oil in the skid tank,” he said in a statement here today.
Kamalludin said that during the inspection a 58-year-old local man who claimed to be the site manager failed to produce any licence or permit for scheduled controlled items of diesel oil when requested.
