TAPAH: Two men died in a road accident involving two trailers and a four-wheel drive at KM 317.5 of the North-South Highway (PLUS), heading north today.
It is understood that the two victims who died were the driver of a trailer loaded with watermelons and the driver of a trailer loaded with cement.
The director of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, Sayani Saidon, said both victims were confirmed dead at the scene by the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM).
She also said that her party received a call regarding the incident at 5.12 pm this afternoon, and members from the Tapah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the location.
“There were three vehicles involved, a watermelon trailer, a cement trailer and a four-wheel drive Ford Ranger.
“The drivers of the trailers died at the scene while another woman from the four-wheel drive was slightly injured,” she told reporters on Wednesday.
The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Nizam Mohd Akhir.
