IPOH – The public is cordially invited to grace PORTFEST 2023, which is set to unfold from the 19th to the 20th of August 2023 at Dataran Ipoh (MBI).
PORTFEST 2023 will run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Various events will be held, including creative art sales, street food & coffee, exhibitions of classic cars and bicycles, a street dance competition, and a concert performance involving more than 300 creative artists.
The Chief Manager of PORT, Nur Hanim Dato’ Mohamed Khairuddin, stated that PORTFEST 2023 is a brand introduced by PORT in 2015.
“This festival program brings together communities from various fields of the creative industry, especially the younger generation in the state of Perak.
“Through creative talents and the products produced, it will undoubtedly be one of the attractions in promoting the Visit Ipoh 2023 and Visit Perak 2024 campaigns.
“Among the events that capture public attention are the ‘Graffiti Wall Shoot 2.0’ demonstration, which will be conducted by 16 graffiti artists from both local and foreign origins; the ‘Drink & Draw’ workshop with comic artist Ben Wong, organised by the Sako Plus cartoonist group; the ‘1 on 1 BBoy Battle’ dance competition by Blazin Squad; and the Hotwheels and Toy exhibition and competition by Kolek,” he said in a statement today.
Furthermore, the custom chopper motorcycle exhibition “Iron Red” by Rusty Factory, which recently won the ‘Best Fabrication’ award at the 2023 Art of Speed, will also be showcased.
Additionally, motorcycle brands such as Harley Davidson, Triumph, and Royal Enfield will contribute to the exhibition segment.
“Enthusiasts can also indulge in free concerts performed by several renowned musical ensembles, including XPDC, Gerhana Ska Cinta, Riddim Bois, and Sekumpulan Orang Gila (SOG).
“This ‘street arts’ themed program is expected to attract more than 20,000 domestic and international visitors.
“Such a festival can foster a sense of solidarity among participants to further enhance the production of quality creative art products,” he stated.
PORT Fest 2023 will be inaugurated by the Right Honourable Chief Minister of Perak, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, on August 20, 2023, at 4:00 PM.
