BAGAN SERAI – MK Land Holding Berhad has officially launched the operational phase of its Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Plant in Lembah Beriah, Kerian, through its subsidiary, Solar Citra.
The pioneering 10.95-Megawatt (MW) Solar Citra Photovoltaic (PV) Plant is the first of its kind in Perak.
Executive Chairman of MK Land, Felina Tan Sri Datuk Dr Mustapha Kamal, stated that the plant will supply an electric output of 10.95 MW to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for 25 years.
The Solar Citra Plant has been operational since May 25th.
“The installation consists of 32,000 solar panels, with a total cost of RM52 million, to generate the 10.95 MW-scale PV solar plant.”
“This will contribute to our continuous new revenue stream and reinforce how the property sector remains our core focus,” he mentioned during a media briefing at the Large-Scale Solar Power Plant Operation Celebration of Solar Citra in Lembah Beriah.
Following this success, Solar Citra plans to establish another solar plant in Kulim, Kedah, to cater to industrial entrepreneurs in need of such energy supply.
Currently, a total of six solar farms have been developed in Kerian.
Five solar farms are situated in the Lembah Beriah area, covering a span of 540 acres.
Another one, located in Parit Buntar, spans 100 acres, bringing the cumulative area to 640 acres in Kerian.
