Sultan Nazrin Graces the Celebration of the 66th Independence Day, accompanied by 25,000 Attendees

IPOH: His Royal Highness the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, graciously attended the procession and parade in commemoration of the State-level National Day 2023 at the grounds of the Indera Mulia Stadium, accompanied by 25,000 attendees.

Also in attendance was the Queen of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim. Their Royal Highnesses arrived at the celebration site at 8:22 a.m., accompanied by their children, Raja Azlan Muzaffar Shah and Raja Nazira Safya.

Accompanying them were the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, along with the Raja Puan Muda of Perak, Raja Nazhatul Shima Idris Shah and the Raja Dihilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah.

Also present were the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, and his wife, Datin Seri Aezer Zubun; the State Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, and members of the State Government Executive Council (EXCO).

The festivities commenced with the parade of unit banners and the main honour guard, accompanied by the Royal Malaysian Navy Band contingent.

Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah also reviewed the Main Honor Guard from the 2nd Division Kem Sangro Royal Engineer Regiment (RAJD) at Taiping.

The celebration program began with the recitation of holy verses from the Quran and a prayer led by the Chief Imam of the State Mosque, Abd Farid Salleh.

The festivities continued with a parade featuring 91 contingents representing various agencies, local governments, uniformed personnel from public universities, schools, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the state.

Among the participating contingents were the Malaysian Armed Forces, the Ipoh City Council (MBI), the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and the State Health Department (JKN) of Perak. The celebration concluded at 10:00 a.m.
