LUMUT – Approximately 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the Pangkor Island Festival 2023 (PIF2023), scheduled to take place from September 28 to 30.
This marks the sixth edition of the festival since its inception in 2013.
Eric Ch’ng Lip Kang, the Director of PIF2023, stated that this year’s festival revolves around the theme of togetherness, aligning with its 10th-anniversary celebration.
He emphasized that the number 10 symbolizes perfection, integrity, and unity within Chinese culture, hence the theme “Togetherness” for this edition.
“In light of this, PIF2023 aims to invite the public, artists, and performance teams to return to Pangkor Island this year to enliven the festivities,” he said in a statement.
PIF2024 will feature a variety of exciting events, including jazz concerts, cultural performances, visual art exhibitions, art workshops, short film screenings, parades, markets, theatres, mobile kitchens, and conferences. It will involve both local and international artists and speakers.
These captivating events will take place around Pangkor Island, specifically in Sungai Pinang Kecil, Sungai Pinang Besar, and Pasir Bogak.
