LENGGONG: A man who was found drowned, is believed to have fallen into a catchment pond in the Ladang Air Kala area last night.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said his staff received a call informing about the incident of the missing victim at 4.17pm yesterday before members rushed to the location to conduct a search operation.
He said the 32-year-old victim was found drowned at 11.21pm after a search by the Perak State JBPM Water Rescue Team (PPDA).
“We were informed that there was a 32-year-old male victim suspected of drowning in the catchment pond of the farm after finding the hat and slippers of the victim with the victim’s lorry still in the parking lot of the incident,” he said through a statement last night.
He said, the head of operations sized up the situation and a search was carried out by surface searching and diving by PPDA JBPM Perak.
“The victim was found at 11.21pm at a distance of 50 metres from the location where the victim is believed to have fallen.
“The victim was confirmed dead by the health department and handed over to the police for further action,” he said
He said the entire operation ended at 11.40pm.
