IPOH: The flight route between Ipoh to Langkawi at Sultan Azlan Shah Airport (LTSAS) here, has not been terminated but only temporarily suspended.
Chairman of the state’s Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee, Loh Sze Yee, said the re-operation of the flight route has not yet been identified for the near future.
“The Ipoh-Langkawi flight route has not been terminated, referring to the AirAsia airline and LTSAS itself, the route has only been temporarily suspended.
“Nevertheless, the re-operation of this flight route has not yet been identified in the near future,” he said when responding to a
question from State Assemblyman (PH-Tronoh) Tiw Tee Siang at the 15th State Assembly (DUN) Conference, here today.
Tee Siang asked the question whether the Ipoh-Langkawi flight route is terminated and what flight route will be available at the airport.
In the meantime, Sze Yee added, currently the airlines operating in LTSAS are AirAsia and Flyscoot.
He explained further that any route is under the jurisdiction of the airline in determining the potential of new routes in LTSAS to other destinations or vice versa.
He added, it is also through cooperation and approval from the Federal government.
