IPOH: Sultan Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah graciously received a total business zakat (is a form of almsgiving, often collected by the muslim people) payment of RM8,170,475.68 from eight corporate companies at Istana Kinta here today.
The Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), which received the zakat, stated in a press release that the presentation to Sultan Nazrin was preceded by the Perak Water Board (LAP).
It said LAP was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ishak Abd Rahman, with a business zakat amount of RM4,850,000.
“Following that, Ipoh Specialist Hospital Sdn. Bhd. (KPJ Ipoh) represented by the Chief Executive Officer of Ipoh Specialist Hospital Sdn. Bhd. (KPJ Ipoh), Badrul Hisyam Ibrahim, contributed RM1,096,282.73 in business zakat.
“Also contributing business zakat was the Bagan Datoh Perak Region Plantation Cooperative Berhad, represented by its Chairman, Salleh Hudin Kamarudin, with a total of RM585,174.68,” it said here today.
The statement further mentioned that YP Nominees Holdings Sdn. Bhd. also contributed business zakat totaling RM406,754.87, presented by the Chief Executive Officer of YP Nominees Sdn Bhd, Rozita Ramli.
This was followed by the contribution of business zakat by the Perak State Malay Forestry Officers Heritage Cooperative Berhad, represented by its Chairman, Nor Sharifuddin Yeop, with a business zakat amount of RM380,513.78.
In addition, Empayar Indera Sdn. Bhd. contributed RM300,000, presented by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Rusli Md Isa.
The presentation concluded with the contribution of business zakat by Koperasi Kemajuan Tanah Perak Berhad, represented by its Chairman, Datuk Mohammed Akhiar Ahmad Wazir Affandi, with a total of RM121,749.62.
