IPOH: Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, today launched the Madani Medical Scheme and the National Madani Afiat Program 2023 at Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout here.
Also present were the Minister of Health, Dr. Zaliha Mustafa and Menteri Besar Perak, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamed.
In his speech, Anwar emphasized the government’s commitment to continue carrying the trust and responsibility of addressing health issues.
He stressed that these long-standing issues, particularly the facilities in healthcare institutions and congestion in hospitals, would receive significant allocations in the MADANI 2024 Budget to be presented in the Parliament on October 13th.
In the same speech, the Prime Minister also mentioned the unreasonable subsidies currently being enjoyed by the wealthy, and thus, rationalization is needed to protect the rights of those who genuinely require assistance.
“Insha-Allah, stay tuned for important announcements regarding healthcare and other matters in the MADANI 2024 Budget, which is designed to ensure that the people attain well-being – health, prosperity, sanity, and happiness,” said the Prime Minister.
