IPOH: The Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) 2023 Career Carnival, which brought together 13 companies and two higher education institutions, provides opportunities for job seekers to make suitable choices.
In addition to factors like salary and location, prospective employers’ stability is also viewed by job seekers as a factor for the long term.
For Ahmad Khairul Nizam Ahmad Shabery, 21, he looks at this factor to avoid situations like job loss.
“Actually, I’m not just looking for a job, but I want assurance that the employer I choose is stable.
“Even if I work in a convenience store, as long as the company is resilient, there’s less risk of losing a job,” he said.
The same view is shared by Wan Suhani Wan Mohamad because the employer factor also contributes to employee welfare and other facilities.
“Based on the interviews here, most employers indeed have high standards and are sensitive to employee welfare.
“I have been interviewed by four companies and hope it’s a blessing to get a job,” she said.
Over 300 job opportunities and industrial training placements were offered during the two-day carnival, which ended today.
It was attended by over 1,000 visitors, including students, alumni, and job seekers from the city of Ipoh.
