Ipoh: The temporary evacuation centre (PPS) at the Tamil National Type School (SJKT) Trolak in Muallim was closed at 8:30 AM on Saturday as the situation of flash floods began to recede, and the weather improved.
This information was confirmed by the Chairman of the Muallim District Disaster Management Committee (JPBD), Mohamad Fitri Hassan, in a statement today.
“JPBD Muallim has assessed the current weather conditions and risks in the affected area and decided to close the PPS at SJKT Trolak on Saturday, starting at 8:30 AM,” he said.
Earlier, as of 7 AM, the flood situation in the Batang Padang and Muallim areas affected a total of 67 victims at two locations.
The PPS at the Multipurpose Hall of Kampung Klah Baru, Sungkai, accommodated 54 victims from 11 families, while the PPS at SJKT Trolak accommodated 13 victims from three families.
