IPOH – The local authorities (PBT) of Perak state have achieved proud recognition for their efforts, receiving awards in various categories.
These awards were presented during the celebration of World Environmental Health Day at the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (KPKT) in Kuala Lumpur.
Three PBTs were recognized through KPKT’s 2022 Environmental Health Campaign.
The Ipoh City Council received an award for the “Combat Dengue Hotspot Campaign” (RPT Batu 8, Ulu Kinta).
The Teluk Intan Municipal Council received recognition for the “Clean Food Premises Campaign” (Medan Selera Mini Stadium), while the Central Perak District Council was acknowledged for the “Cleanest Public Toilets Campaign” (Taman Awam Medan Selera Kampong Gajah).
In the Cleanest Eating Area competition, the Taiping Municipal Council secured third place in Category A, while the Kerian District Council received special recognition in the same category (Medan Selera Jalan Padang).
For Category B of the Cleanest Eating Area competition, the Tanjong Malim District Council in Perak (Medan Selera Muallim) took second place.
All awards and certificates were presented by the Minister of KPKT, Nga Kor Ming.
Starting in 2021, KPKT organized the Environmental Health Campaign involving PBTs across the country. This campaign consists of five main subprograms: Dengue Prevention, Rat Eradication, Clean Food Premises, Clean Public Markets, and Clean Public Toilets.
