LENGGONG: A man who was feared missing since yesterday has been discovered deceased by members of the public at the riverbank near Kampung Bukit Sapi here today.
Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the Assistant Director of Operations of the Perak State Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), stated that the 27-year-old victim was identified as Saiful Azhar.
He mentioned that they received a call regarding the incident at 8:35 a.m. today before members of the Lenggong Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the location.
“Bomba (Fire and Rescue) received information from the police indicating that a male victim was suspected to have gone missing since Tuesday.
“Today, we conducted a search and rescue operation, and during its execution, we received information that the victim had been found by members of the public by the riverbank,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
He added that the deceased victim was subsequently handed over to the police for further action.
The operation, led by PPgB Farizul Anuar Razali, concluded at 9:50 a.m.
