Malayalee Gala Dinner
On Saturday, August 5 the Perak Malayalee Association (PMA) and the All-Malaysia Malayalee Association (AMMA) hosted a pre-annual delegates’ conference dinner at Syeun Hotel, Ipoh. The objective was to celebrate their success in organising AMMA Games Carnival from August 4 to 6.
The evening began with the arrival of guests, dressed in elegant and colourful attires at 7.15pm.
Association president, Datuk Suseela Menon, in her speech, expressed her happiness for the successful games, after a lapse of eight years.
“I’m delighted that the AMMA Games Carnival is on again this year. I’ve constantly been emphasising that we must always keep our youth in mind and organise events that would engage them in a positive manner.
“I’m happy to note that 11 of our Samajams have come forward to participate. I’ve sensed the excitement in some of these Samajams, especially amongst our youth, over the Games. This is very heartening,” she said.
It was a momentous night for the members and guests. They were served Chinese dishes and were entertained by a number of performances, including Indian classical dances.
