IPOH: Three individuals, including a senior citizen, were saved in a landslide incident on the hillside near their residence on Jalan Orkid 3, Kampung Dato’ Ahmad Said Tambahan Baru, Manjoi, here late this evening.
A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said they received a call regarding the landslide incident at 4:34 pm.
He said that members of the Meru Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station, rushed to the scene.
“Three victims, consisting of two men and a 73-year-old senior citizen woman, were successfully rescued.
“The firefighters evacuated the affected house, and the victims did not sustain any injuries.
“A van trapped on the landslide also had to be moved using ropes and a system,” he said here today.
The operation was led by PBK II Shahrizala Abu Hanifah.
