MBI helps clean up the storm-affected area in Taman Klebang Jaya

IPOH: A total of 10 members of the Ipoh City Council (MBI) Services Department conducted operations to clean up the area in Taman Klebang Jaya, here, which was recently affected by a storm.

MBI spokesperson stated that they used two eight-ton lorries for the operation in that location. Additionally, debris such as roof fragments and building materials scattered in the vicinity were collected and cleaned to prevent any safety risks.

Earlier, heavy and continuous rain lasting over two hours, coupled with an evening storm on Wednesday, caused severe damage to 36 houses in Klebang Jaya.

According to the spokesperson for the District Civil Defense Operations Control Center (PKOD) in the Kinta district, the incident occurred around 4:26 in the afternoon.

“The prolonged heavy rain, accompanied by a storm for over two hours, resulted in damage to houses in the Klebang Jaya area.

“Based on the information we received, a total of 36 houses suffered damage with roofs torn off and affected,” the spokesperson said.

He further explained that four officers and members of the Civil Defense Force (APM), including ambulance personnel, moved to the location to monitor and assess the risk in the affected area.

Previously, the heavy rain that occurred today viral on social media, caused incidents of fallen trees, obstructing roads around Klebang, including the Klebang Jaya storm incident.
