TAIPING: Various new species of animals await visitors at Taiping Zoo & Night Safari (ZTNS).
According to the President of Taiping Municipal Council (MPT), Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir, there are nearly 10 new attractive animal species that can enhance the public’s experience when visiting Taiping.
He mentioned that among the latest additions are a pair of Striped Skunks, two pairs of Violet Turaco birds, two pairs of Mandarin Ducks, two pairs of Carolina Wood Ducks, three pairs of Ringed Teals, a pair of Golden Pheasants, a pair of Lady Amherst’s Pheasants, and five pairs of Gouldian Finches.
“With the presence of various unique birds and mammals, it enhances the zoo-visiting experience to meet the needs of visitors of all ages. With these new attractions, we hope ZTNS will continue to be a preferred destination for families in the upcoming school holiday season,” he said here today.
In a separate development, he informed that MPT received the Sustainable City Award 2023 in conjunction with the World Town Planning Day 2023 (HPBS2023) at the state level in Perak at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Iskandar.
He clarified that the celebration is to appreciate the contribution of urban planners who consistently ensure that the agenda and development planning of the state government are implemented, taking into account the socio-economic needs of the people and environmental conservation aspects.
Khairul Amir stated that, in addition, MPT has been categorised as low risk by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM).
“MPT was categorised as low risk compared to moderate in 2020.
“SPRM, in a letter dated November 22, conveyed congratulations and appreciation to MPT for the commitment implemented in anti-corruption efforts,” he added.
