About 10,000 joined the state-levelHari Sukan Negara at Bulatan Amanjaya, Bandar Meru Raya on Saturday, October 14.
It was officiated by Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
It kicked off with a 20km FunRide and 10,000-step FunWalk at 7.30am with 2000 participants.
In his speech, Zambry congratulated the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia for organising such a beneficial programme for the people.
He hoped that such event will produce more athletes and sportsmen.
“I believe that Perak has a lot of potential talents which can be molded,” he explained.
Among the activities held in conjuction with the big day were cycling, run, archery, aerobics and self-defence. Zambry also joined the 20-kilometre cycling.
Present were Dato’ Shahrul Zaman Yahya, Executive Councillor for Human Resource, Youth and Sports and Mayor Dato’ Zamri bin Man.
The Hari Sukan Negara was celebrated nationwide simultaneously.
