BERUAS: A man was injured and trapped after the van he was in collided with the rear of an IPT (Institute of higher Learning)bus in front of the Pantai Remis Mosque here late last night.
Assistant Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the incident occurred around 10:48 pm.
He mentioned that the accident involved a van and an IPT bus, carrying four and 32 passengers respectively.
“Members from the Pantai Remis Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene and found a man in his 40s from the IPT van trapped in the front passenger area.
“Meanwhile, four van passengers and all 32 bus passengers did not suffer any injuries,” he said in a statement on Monday.
He explained that the operation chief then utilized the saver concept and directed members to extricate the trapped victim using rescue equipment.
He added that the victim was later handed over to the Ministry of Health Malaysia ambulance for follow-up action.
The operation led by Senior Fire Officer II Mohamad Hanafi Mohamed Rasidi concluded at 12:17 am.
