IPOH: A hardware store was destroyed in a fire incident at Station 18, Pengkalan Pegoh, early this morning.
According to the Deputy Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the single-story store measuring 20×70 square feet was destroyed by 50%.
He said they received an emergency call at around 1 am, before personnel from the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) assisted by BBP Simpang Pulai arrived at the scene.
“Fortunately, the fire did not involve any casualties, and the firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
“The operation used two 300-foot hoses with two nozzles until the fire was completely extinguished,” he said in a statement today.
The operation, led by the Chief of the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station, PKPgB Akmal Azizi, concluded at 3:30 am in the morning.
