IPOH: The Ipoh City Council will implement a project to upgrade the existing intersections and change the traffic flow around the shop houses in Taman Pertama here.
This is to address the traffic congestion and accidents that occur at the junction.
The Mayor, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, said that congestion issues occur at the intersection during peak hours in the morning, noon, and evening.
According to him, this is due to the daily activities of residents around the shop house area and nearby parks conducting business in the area.
“The MBI recommends that one of these intersections be realigned by closing the existing entry route.
“Furthermore, the proposal includes re-aligning the two-way streets to one-way in Lorong Taman 9, Lorong Taman 10, and Lorong Taman 11 to address the accident and congestion issues,” he said.
He made these remarks during a townhall session discussing the proposal to upgrade and change the traffic flow in the area.
By re-aligning these roads to one-way, it can further increase the number of existing vehicle parking spaces in that shop house area.
At the same time, users are urged to follow road directions during the implementation of the project to facilitate the said project.
Dear Ipoh Echo…I think there’s typo here…it’s taman pertama…”The traffic flow in Taman Permata has been changed to address congestion issues”
Dear Ahya,
Thanks for noticing. It’s been corrected. It should be Pertama, not Permata. Thanks again.
