CHANGKAT JERING: The Perak tourism landscape is set to change with the completion of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) project.
The final phase involves completing Section 11, which includes the Beruas and South Taiping interchanges.
Construction in this section is in its final phase before opening to the public.
Section 11 complements the WCE in the Perak state route, spanning 35.5 kilometers between the two interchanges.
Currently, five out of the total 11 highway sections have been opened to traffic, benefiting both Selangor and Perak.
The WCE is crucial for Perak to expand its transportation network, connecting towns and regions.
Moreover, it is expected to boost the state’s economic growth, linking key ports such as Port Klang, Lumut, and Penang.
This highway serves as a catalyst for Perak’s plans to stimulate socio-economic growth along the west coast.
Earlier, Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, inspected the progress of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) Section 11 project.
