Physical Counters Helped Public Update Their Details
by KT Leong
The opening of physical counters to assist the public in registering their details with the government yesterday, was a success.
Held at the Gurdwara Sahib Bercham, Ipoh, the physical counters helped the approximately 200 people who participated, to register and ensure that their data was up to date for the Central Database Hub (Pangkalan Data Utama, or PADU), Rahmah Cash Contribution (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah or STR) and Poverty Eradication (Pembasmian Kemiskinan or E-KASIH).
These physical counters helped the people who are not particularly computer savvy to register their information as well as answer any questions they may have. As those who register may be eligible for various support from the government, the people are encouraged to participate.
For PADU, those who are not registering for the rest of their household only need to bring their identity card (IC) as well as have their phone on-hand, in order to receive a One Time Personal (OTP) code when they register. Copies of their household’s IC will be required if they intend to register for the rest of their household.
Mr. Kesh Sevadar, thanked the Malaysian Ministry of Finance and the JPM Unit of Implementation and Coordination (Unit Penyelarasan Pelaksanaan JPM) for their kind assistance in helping the public keep their information up to date, so that they would be eligible for various support from the government.
Refreshments, such as teh, air bandung and chapati were also freely provided for visitors; as well as bandannas for those who had no head coverings.
