In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, Econsave supermarket continues its charitable efforts, showing constant concern for the less fortunate.
Shah Effendy Rosman, the Manager of Econsave Utara 3, stated that this year, the management of Econsave has allocated a sum of RM5,100 to two orphanages.
“We have allocated RM3,500 in the form of vouchers worth RM50.00 each to 70 orphans, and RM800 for food expenses for each orphanage, making the total contribution RM1,600.
“This year marks the 10th time Econsave has carried out this program in collaboration with the Ipoh City Council and Hotel M Roof. It is evident that this program has somewhat alleviated the burden on all parties involved,” he told the media after handing over the vouchers for purchasing supplies in preparation for Hari Raya Aidilfitri at Econsave Jelapang yesterday.
Meanwhile, in the evening, all the orphans were treated to an iftar event fully sponsored by the management of Hotel M Roof.
Present at the event was the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, who also presented a contribution of RM500 to the Principal of the Al Yassin Orphanage, Norizan Razali, and the Chairperson & Founder of the Baitul Aini Orphanage and Poor Children’s Association Ipoh, Datin Noraini Abdullah.
The event concluded with the distribution of ‘duit raya’ (money given during Eid) to the orphans by the President of the Lions Club of Ipoh Centennial, Sharmila Senin.
