IPOH: The Southern Thailand Media Day program held in Hat Yai recently was marked by the presence of approximately 100 media practitioners from Malaysia.
This Malaysian delegation involved media associations from states adjacent to the Southern Thailand region.
It involves the participation of media practitioners from five states, Perak, Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, and Terengganu, in the three-day program
Also invited as guests in the Perak media delegation were the media unit of the Ipoh City Council (MBI).
Among the programs organized were workshops on the role of media in Malaysia-Thailand tourism and the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between The Press Association Of Southern Thailand and the Perlis Press Association.
The next was a matching session between tourism enthusiasts from Malaysia-Southern Thailand and Tourism Talk.
Mohd Syahrizal Azmi, Public Relations Officer of MBI, also acting as the Manager of MBI’s Radio TV, representing the Mayor of Ipoh and the President of the Perak Media Practitioners Association, served as a forum panelist to discuss tourism issues from a media perspective.
The highlight of the event was the Opening Ceremony of the Malaysia & Southern Thailand Tourism Cooperation, officiated by the Crown Prince of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.
Through this program, media delegations had the opportunity to share strategies, especially in terms of reporting news about tourism in their respective states.
This, in turn, promotes existing tourism and strengthens the relationship between Malaysia and Thailand, particularly in further developing the tourism sector.
