KUALA KANGSAR : Police successfully busted a Methamphetamine type drug trafficking syndicate through raids conducted around Kuala Kangsar recently.
Director of the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) Bukit Aman, Dato’ Khaw Kok Chin said it involved the seizure of 51,501 grams of Methamphetamine estimated to be worth RM2.57 million.
He said, in this operation, the police succeeded in arresting two men aged 31 and 33 years old.
“The syndicate is believed to obtain drug supplies in the northern state and use cars to smuggle drugs into the Perak market. The police also seized a Mercedes Benz car estimated to be worth RM53,000,” he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and both suspects have been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation.
