IPOH: The Ipoh City Council aims to construct a football field made from the world’s best type of synthetic turf, meeting the demands of the current generation.
It is on par with 26 synthetic football fields in Malaysia that meet the quality standards and are recognized by the world football organization, FIFA.
Based on the aspirations of the National Sports Vision 2030, the construction of this synthetic football field is hoped to bring significant benefits to the residents of Ipoh city.
In relation to that, a briefing session or Town Hall was held chaired by the Mayor of Ipoh, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin.
Also present were the State Assembly Member (ADUN) of Canning, Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the Perak State Assembly, representatives of State Assembly Members and Parliament as well as representatives from government agencies and residents.
This session aims to provide information and updates on the improvement and upgrading of the existing cowgrass football field to a synthetic turf football field.
Since 2013, several football fields in Malaysia have been upgraded with synthetic turf.
Despite the relatively high installation costs, it can lead to long-term savings.
It is understood that two locations have been proposed for the construction of synthetic football fields, Sultan Abdul Aziz Recreation Park or Polo Ground and DR Seenivasagam Recreation Park.
The construction of this synthetic field also provides modern facilities equipped with spectator areas, changing rooms, restrooms, and a prayer room
In this regard, feedback from the residents of Ipoh city is necessary so that this development plan is understood before it is proposed.
