LENGGONG: The Lenggong Valley World Heritage Site will undergo a series of development projects aimed at stimulating tourism-related economic growth.
These projects include the construction of a jetty, eateries, rest areas, and various other works in Kampung Dusun Beng Lenggong.
An allocation of RM240,000 has been approved to enhance public facilities for tourism activities in this area.
Yesterday, Lenggong Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, inspected the progress of these construction works.
He, along with officials from the Lenggong District Council and village leaders, accompanied the contractors
Also conducted was an inspection of the upgrading project of public facilities at the Kampung Chepor fisherman’s jetty.
Planning and assessments are underway for a RM200,000 project to enhance facilities for tourism activities in this area.
Next, Shamsul Anuar inspected the upgrading project of facilities at Telaga Biru in Kampung Chepor.
The allocation is for constructing a perimeter fence around Telaga Biru, creating a viewing platform, access road, and landscaping to make the area more attractive and visitable by tourists.
This lake has been used by the local community as a water source for health-related purposes.
The spring water is bluish and consistently flows (appearing to boil), leading the local community to hold mystical beliefs about its origin.
Last year, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), through the National Heritage Department, handed over the management of the Lenggong Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site to the Perak state government.
This allows the Perak government to manage the tourism site with the involvement of various state government administrative agencies.
