LENGGONG: The uniqueness and special features of attractive locations throughout the state of Perak will be brought together for the first time in the Perak Agrotourism Carnival 2024 (PAC 2024).
This program, organized by the Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (Perak SADC), is in conjunction with Visit Perak Year 2024.
Supported by the state government, the carnival also receives cooperation from Tourism Perak, the Lenggong District Council, the Lenggong Tourism Council, and the Hulu Perak District and Land Office.
Taking place at Resort Tasik Raban, PAC 2024 provides a platform for agrotourism operators across Perak to directly engage with customers through exciting activities and promotions offered.
Spanning three days starting May 17, it is filled with various programs and activities that will provide visitors with extraordinary experiences.
Among them, the agrotourism exhibition offers discounted packages of up to 40 per cent from tourism agencies, agro-recreation centres, extreme sports operators, as well as leading hotels and resorts.
PAC 2024 will be officiated by the Chief Minister, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.
It aims to boost the increasingly popular agrotourism industry among tourists who appreciate greenery and wish to enjoy vacations responsibly in line with the Perak Prosperous 2030 agenda.
This is related to the Food Basket Flagship (Food Security) under the Agrotourism Hub program, in addition to listing the Experience Economy flagship in the same plan.
Through this event, Perak SADC is committed to assisting the state government in achieving the target of 8 million tourist arrivals during Visit Perak Year, thereby reactivating domestic tourism activities, especially in the agrotourism segment.
PAC 2024 also targets the presence of visitors from abroad, including Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, who are among the contributors to the highest number of international tourists to Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Perak SADC, Dato’ Haji Yahanis Yahya, said that there are over 50 eco and agrotourism sites in Hulu Perak alone, some of which were developed by Perak SADC.
“We have developed several eco and agrotourism projects including Taman Herba Gopeng, Gunung Masoorat, Denai Kabus Agro Farm, Ulu Piah Eco Farm Resort, and many more.
“Therefore, through the organization of PAC 2024, we want visitors to be exposed not only to the attractions available in Perak but also to attractive packages offered at special prices for everyone,” he said.
