KUALA KANGSAR: Two trailers carrying tyres and chemical loads were involved in an accident at kilometer (KM) 233.8 of the North-South Expressway, southbound here today.
As a result of the accident, all northbound lanes were blocked and traffic was diverted to the Kuala Kangsar Toll Plaza.
According to the Deputy Director of Operations Division of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, they received a call regarding the incident at 9.05 a.m.
He said, members from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station were then dispatched to the location.
“The road accident involved two trailers, however, there were no trapped or injured victims.
“The Operations Commander then conducted a size-up and monitored the incident area for safety,” he said in a statement here today.
The operation, involving 10 members, was led by PBK II Suhairol Fahmi Ishak and ended at 10.34 a.m.
Meanwhile, PLUS Malaysia on its Facebook page informed that the current status heading north is still diverted to the Kuala Kangsar Toll Plaza.
