LENGGONG: Kampung Beng here has been selected as the Kampung Angkat Madani by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN), which will greatly benefit the area.

Among the projects to be implemented by KDN in Kampung Beng are improving clean water supply and providing basic internet facilities in the area.

The implementation of this initiative is timely as some residents of the village still rely on hill water for clean water facilities.

Previously, Kampung Beng was renowned for its homestay products under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

This is one of the main products of Visit Perak Year 2024, besides showcasing the unique history and natural beauty of Lenggong as the main tourist attraction.

The launching ceremony of the Kampung Angkat Madani KDN selection was officiated by the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Meanwhile, Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad stated in a statement that the state government is very pleased with the selection of the village.

“I am confident that this pure initiative will bring benefits to the community in Kampung Beng, as each involved ministry will implement special projects and programs to improve basic facilities in the selected villages.

“Considering that Lenggong is an area with potential for tourism development, it certainly requires better internet coverage and water facilities.

“I have been informed that the ministry also intends to build a police station in Kampung Beng to further enhance security facilities, not only for residents but also for tourists visiting Lenggong,” he said.
