Drug area scramble: Three men were arrested, and the suspect is still being hunted

IPOH: Police arrested three men to assist in the investigation into a case of a fight that caused serious injuries near Jalan Institut Latihan Ministry of Health Malaysia (ILKKM), Tanjung Rambutan, here on Sunday.

According to Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, the three suspects who are each aged 23 to 37 will be brought to the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court on Monday for remand applications.

He said that his party received information regarding a fight involving three local men aged between 26 and 30 who were seriously injured at 11.30 am.

“All the victims were treated at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, and the investigation found that the first victim almost severed his left wrist.

“The second victim’s left wrist was severed and the third victim’s vein was severed in the left palm.

“The conversation recordings of all the victims have been taken and they claim to have been attacked by 20 masked local men armed with sticks and machetes,” he said last night.

He said the cause of the fight is believed to stem from a fight over drug territory. Therefore, he said, the case was investigated according to Section 326 of the Penal Code and 148 of the Penal Code.

He also explained that the police are still actively tracking the suspect who is still at large.

“The police are asking people who have information about this case to come forward and give evidence to the investigating officer of the case, Insp Mohamad Syafiq Mohd Ghazali on 013-7962051.

“Or come to the nearest police station to help with the investigation,” he said.
