Advertisement of Attractions and Tourism Products in Ipoh via ETS

By: Aida Aziz

IPOH: Promotional packages featuring information about products and attractions in the city of Ipoh are now advertised through the Electric Train Service (ETS).

The Mayor of Ipoh, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, stated that this initiative aligns with Visit Perak Year, aiming to introduce interesting sites to both domestic and international visitors.

He mentioned that advertising through the ETS is a new initiative by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) in collaboration with Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB).

“On December 31, 2022, MBI launched Visit Ipoh Year 2023 as a showcase for Visit Perak Year 2024.

“This is a preparatory step to place Ipoh on the tourism map ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

“Advertising via ETS is intended to promote interesting tourism products and attractions in Ipoh.

“A variety of activities and programs have been planned to attract more visitors,” he said.

He said this during the Launch Ceremony of the Advertising Package for Promotional Information on Tourism Products and Attractions in Ipoh City via ETS at Ipoh Railway Station today.

Rumaizi added that the featured products are segmented into the 3H concept: Hipster, Heritage, and Health.

“The growth of hipster-style cafes, 27 historical buildings from the British era, and advanced hospital facilities ready to receive international patients for treatment are characteristics of the 3H concept.

“In addition to disseminating information through MBI’s website and social media, it is now also promoted through the ETS,” he said.

He is confident that the ETS route from Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar in the north and from Kuala Lumpur to Gemas in the south will attract more visitors to Ipoh through this advertisement.
