IPOH: Two young models from Riau, Indonesia will participate in the International Ipoh Fashion Week (IIFW) Season 6 which will take place in Taiping this July.

The participation of both young models, managed by the weaving and batik production organization, Puan Aspekraf, will be part of the contingent of 10 other models.

These two young models, Raja Alesha Zahra and Viona Ramadhani, who have achieved various accomplishments in fashion competitions in Pekanbaru, Indonesia, will showcase two types of attire.

Chairman of Puan Aspekraf, Irna Juita hopes that their participation in this event will further promote Riau batik and weaving on the international stage, while introducing models from the largest region in Central Sumatra.

She mentioned that this is their third time participating in such a fashion event.

“This event, held in our neighboring country (Ipoh, Malaysia), will provide a platform for Indonesia to showcase weaving and models from Riau.

“Alesha and Viona are very excited to participate in this event.

“They hope to expand their friendship with models from other countries,” she said when contacted.

Irna said, besides bringing 12 models, they will also bring singers who will play accompanying music during the fashion show.

“They will perform songs Zapin and Hari Bahagia created by the famous songwriter from Riau, Indonesia, Datin Seri Hj. Syarifah Darmiati Aida,” she said.
